“To die to self means to die to human traits that cause us to stumble: deny sin, excuses, blame, self-pity, self-will, rebellion, complaining, reputation, injustice, guilt, wrong words, ungodly thoughts.”—Joyce Meyer (via agirlchangingtheworld)
“If you live in a world where you are the smartest person in the room, where everybody is pulling at you, everybody is drawing from you, everybody is nursing from the milk of your wisdom.. You are in the wrong room. You need to go into another room that makes you think again, that makes you read again, that makes you reignite your passion. You need to be around people who make deposits not just withdraws into your destiny.”—Bishop T.D. Jakes (via continuouslyevolving)
We aren't the girls who get 42 'likes' on our Facebook pictures, we aren't the girls that act dumb to get the guys, or that wear shorts with our asses hanging out. We care more about music than popularity. We are the girls who have laughing fits without worrying if our faces look weird, we are the girls who genuinely care about how you are, we are the girls who don't make a big deal of what you said 2 years ago, we're the girls who care more about being nice than who thinks that we're 'hot', we are the girls who can be quiet and often overlooked, but I guarantee we are the girls you'd rather be friends with.
Materialism is a trap. Don't let the ways of this world pull you away from your calling, purpose. Remember you are not of this world. You are a citizen of Heaven. Next time you start spiraling down into desires of worldly possessions remember that. You are a citizen of Heaven.
An american, an English man, and a Nigerian were on a ship. Suddenly the Devil appeared and said, “Drop anything in the sea, if I find it I will eat u, If I can’t, I will be your slave!” The American dropped a pin, the Devil found it and ate him. The English man dropped a coin, the Devil found it and ate him too. The Nigerian opened a bottle of water, poured it in the sea and said, “Na today be today, go find am!”.
